“I like black. It’s a colour that’s made up its mind.”
Tim Forbes bases his international fine art practice on the secluded South Shore of Nova Scotia, on the unceded ancestral territory of the Mi’kmaq. Forbes investigates reductive form and contemporary influences in design and art, expressing a creative language that expands on the communicative power of symbolism. An acclaimed multidisciplinary artist and designer, his work explores scale and materiality across sculpture, photographic imagery, and the studio’s signature minimalist paintings on canvas.
